I Qualified as a counsellor in 2021 after completing a foundation degree in counselling from the University of Ulster. Since qualifying I have worked as an integrative counsellor in the voluntary sector.
My counselling style is integrative , and I am very interested in Emotion Focused and client led therapy. Personal life experience and work have led me to believe that a persons health and wellbeing is such a complex matter. I believe that at some point in all of our lives we need to have someone we can reach out to , to help us make sense of what may be going on in crisis points of our lives.
Prior to qualifying as a counsellor I worked as a Registered General Nurse and Midwife in the NHS , in a diverse range of settings from hospital wards to community clinics and care homes, with a wide variety of people and issues. I came to see that people, whatever their issue, appreciated someone to talk to about their life. The most amazing thing for me when working with people is the privilege of someone trusting me with stories of their life.
