The effects of anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma is multifaceted and can be physically felt as well as mentally and emotionally. I believe everyone’s experience of stress, anxiety and depression is different and rather than ‘a one size fits all’ type of counselling, I provide a holistic approach and look at you as a whole to tailor therapy to your needs.
You are a unique individual and your early years, social interactions, cultural and life experiences shape who you are and how you deal with change, problems, and traumatic events.
The main approach I use is person-centred believing you are the expert on yourself, supporting you with exploring problems and making decisions, and as an integrated therapist I will also draw on different counselling techniques to help you better understand yourself, and how you relate to others.
As well as providing a non-judgemental, confidential, and safe space to tell your story we might use tools such as breath work, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness and meditation techniques to help you manage symptoms and improve your mental wellbeing now and in the future.
I offer support with a range of issues (this is not an exhaustive list), including anxiety, depression, stress, grief, long term illness, relationships, bullying and managing symptoms related to autism and ADHD.
If you’re not sure if counselling is for you give me a call to have a chat.
