I specialise in working with gay and bisexual men who maybe struggling with anxiety, alcohol and drugs, depression, sexuality, shame, relationships, or a sense of feeling "stuck" or "overwhelmed".
I'm an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist. This means that I use a range of different approaches when working with clients. This enables me to tailor your therapy around you and your individual needs, rather than applying a one size fits all approach.
Therapy is collaborative process where we work together. So developing a strong "therapeutic relationship" (the relationship between me, your therapist, and you, the client), is at the core of our work. To help facilitate this I will provide an environment which is:
- Confidential
- Safe
- Non-judgemental
This will help us explore and unpack your world together and see what emerges. Through this process there is the opportunity to develop and promote:
- Awareness around behaviours and choices
- Individual autonomy
- Change and personal growth
Clients choose to work with me for a variety of reasons. Due to my own background I see a diverse range of people. What they all have in common is a desire for something to change. This is where I can help.
Visit my website www.benedicts.org to find out more about me, my approach, and my passion for helping gay and bisexual men within the LGBTQ+ community in London.
I'm also the founder of www.GayMensCounselling.co.uk which is a specialist service helping gay and bisexual men in London with the mental health and well-being.
I'm able to offer therapy:
- In-person: Westminster (5 minute walk from London Victoria station).
- Online: Via Zoom.
- Hybrid: A combination of both In-person and online.
Taking that first step to get help can feel daunting and may bring up a host of uncomfortable thoughts and feelings. I understand.
