Welcome to the beginning of your counselling journey
Perhaps there's something on your mind that you'd like to discuss with a trusted person who can help. Whether it's dealing with anxiety and stress, coping with past trauma or navigating the challenges of everyday life, which may feel overwhelming and uncertain. When it comes to seeking help, no problem is too big or too small.
Starting counselling is a courageous step towards self-growth and emotional well-being and it is completely normal to have questions and uncertainties. Sometimes it can be about a lack of confidence that what we have to share matters, a lack of self-trust about when and how we share our story or simply not knowing where to start or what to expect.
This journey is unique to you, and your experiences may vary from those of others. I warmly invite you to embrace the path, practice patience with yourself, and approach the process with curiosity and openness.
As an accredited integrative counsellor, I draw on 20 years of experience working in mental health and extensive training in diverse therapeutic models to create a supportive and empathetic space for adults. Informed by various theories alongside lived experience, I offer a non-judgmental environment where confidentiality is paramount. I believe in the power of a nurturing counsellor-client relationship as a catalyst for healing. Collaboratively, we explore your unique experiences and innate wisdom, with your needs guiding the process. Employing an integrative approach allows me to tailor interventions to address your specific requirements. Together, we work towards gaining insight, awareness, and understanding, fostering positive change in alignment with your needs and aspirations.
I provide an open, confidential, and non-judgmental space where you can come to understand yourself and the problems you are experiencing.
I work collaboratively, alongside you, sharing knowledge and offering guidance, respecting and nurturing your inherent knowledge and wisdom which I consider to be as important to the work we do together as the knowledge and experience I bring to the therapeutic relationship.
I believe each person has the capacity and should have the autonomy to fulfil their personal potential. Counselling provides a way to help you rebalance and find yourself. Giving yourself time to just be, to talk freely and feel fully heard and understood which leads to change, deeper understanding, development, and personal growth.
I work with a number of issues and presentations for example anxiety, depression, confidence, loss, trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PSTD) and emotional overwhelm...
I also offer support and guidance around sobriety and/or sober curiosity. My approach focusses on exploring your relationship with alcohol and how it impacts on your life. You may be looking to reduce or give up altogether. Whatever your journey, we can work together towards increasing your awareness and understanding of the effect alcohol has on your life and how you can best move forward.
I work with clients on an individual basis, both short and long term. I am currently only offering online sessions using Zoom. I am trained in delivering counselling sessions outside and in nature, therefore it may be possible to offer 'walk and talk' sessions for local clients if this would be something they felt was beneficial.
I am currently offering daytime appointments on a Monday and weekday evening appointments from 18:00-20:30.
My practice reflects the National Counselling and Psychotherapy society code of Ethics which includes holding and processing client data in line with the GDPR Regulations 2018.
