I believe that all humans have the innate resources to help themselves; that we do the best we can with what we have, until we see a different path. I offer a non-judgmental and confidential space where we can explore and understand the thoughts and feelings that have led to the patterns of behaviour that are no longer working for you. My hope is that you will feel less alone in facing your adversity and that we can uncover solutions that are realistic and personal to you.
I am a qualified and accredited counsellor, with 5 years experience counselling people of all ages. During this time I have accumulated over 1500 counselling hours within several organisations.
Working with Addiction NI, I have extensive experience and knowledge of substance misuse and behaviour addictions. I am trauma informed and have helped clients establish themselves in their present life, living in a way that matches the needs of their current self and becoming unburdened by the past.
Previous experience also includes working within Community based counselling with PIPS Charity and New Life Counselling. I have also worked in Schools based counselling with Familyworks and have experience counselling in Employment Assistance Programmes and Student Services with Inspire.
I have counselled hundreds of clients presenting emotions and experiences such as anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, family addiction, grief, unresolved issues from the past, bullying, sexual identity, life transition, body image, work related stress, sexual assault, physical illness, insomnia and self-esteem issues.
I use Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with my clients. My approach is integrative, i.e. we will use the school of therapy that works best with your presenting issues.
We can agree on a regular space and time to do this. I work remotely (phone and online), from an office base and from an outside space where we can use “Walk and Talk' therapy.
I want to offer counselling on your terms and so invite you to contact me for a no-obligation, 20 minute consultation at no cost – where we can meet remotely, discuss what you want to gain from counselling and decide whether now is the right time for us to work together.
