I appreciate how daunting it can be to choose a counsellor and I know how confusing it can be with all the different terminology used within this profession. However, please be assured that whatever thoughts or feelings you are having right now, we all need help sometimes. For many of us, speaking about our difficulties can seem daunting. If you are feeling anxious or unhappy about your daily life for whatever reason, I might be able to help you. Together we can begin to understand your problems so that in time you can make changes and view your life in a happier, healthier way.
I have vast experience in working with sexual abuse and trauma, depression, addiction, and anxiety. I currently work for a Rape and Sexual Abuse Charity supporting survivors. I work with adults and aim to help you in as few sessions as possible, however, I am happy to work long-term depending on your needs and budget. My work is primarily online or by telephone, but I do have access to a private room if face-to-face sessions are preferred.
I have been working as a counsellor and psychotherapist since 2015 in several different organisations and most recently in private practice. I am qualified in person-centred therapy and integrate other approaches and methods where appropriate within the limits of my training. I am also a clinical supervisor for other counsellors and psychotherapists and a HE lecturer, offering training to future counsellors and psychotherapists.
Among my experience of issues as a counsellor, psychotherapist & supervisor, I include issues such as abuse, addiction, anger, anxiety, bereavement and loss, cancer, depression, low self-esteem, motivation, OCD, panic, personality disorders, self-harm, stress, suicidal thoughts, and trauma.
