Between 1993 and 2019 I worked in the NHS in both inpatient and community settings with 25 years of NHS service in secure (Forensic) mental health.
I have worked with colleagues in developing strategies, policies, and procedures for the management of hate crime and secured a Parliamentary award for this work.
I developed my private practice, following further training in a wide variety of therapies.
I support Lancashire LGBTQ+, offering supervision and consultation
I am currently the course lead for the MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy, at the University of Central Lancashire.
I am also the chair of the BABCP committee: Practitioner Accreditation Registration Committee and a member of the course accreditation and equality, diversity and inclusion committee
I am currently starting my journey to a PhD and hope to investigate the experience of both transgender people and their therapists in receiving and delivering cognitive behavioural therapy.
I am Acc as a counsellor, a cognitive behavioural psychotherapist, an EMDR practitioner and compassionate mind teacher.
I have provided wellbeing and psychological support training for businesses and councils, and their employees.
