I became interested in becoming a counsellor twenty five years ago whilst working as a volunteer mentor supporting vulnerable people experiencing emotional difficulties arising from their challenges with ‘living’.
I felt that I needed to know more in order to support others more effectively and from that time I have become a qualified and accredited Integrative Counsellor and Supervisor, ‘Integrative’ meaning that I have many lenses available to look into the many and varied difficulties my clients present.
During my twenty years’ counselling experience I have been fortunate to work and manage positions within very different and diverse organisations together with ongoing training in order to expand and develop further expertise in my fields.
My specialism and specific area of expertise is with the emotional and cognitive complexities that arise from bereavement, loss, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and the many trauma related issues that can be encountered. Further experience has been in supporting people with learning disabilities. I have also worked in primary schools as a play therapist.
I am currently working with adolescents, adults and couples.
It has been a very humbling experience and a privilege ‘to be and walk with’ people able to open up and trust me enough with their deepest fears and anxieties. I truly believe in the infinite potential innate in everyone of us to lead more fulfilling lives if only we have the courage to take that first step, life can be so much sweeter!.
We will work together at your pace holding your hand to explore and find the answers to enable you to have more control and understanding of your own life.
I offer one to one counselling sessions in a warm and comfortable environment. However, during this time of Covid-19 I am able to offer virtual ‘Face time’ sessions, or sessions via telephone.
I look forward to meeting you.
