Hi, I'm Jessica and I am a fully qualified, accredited counsellor.
I am committed to putting you first, working to professional standards, showing you respect, maintaining integrity. I work in a quiet, relaxing space and offer both long and short term counselling to young people and adults.
Sometimes life is challenging, presenting us with issues that cause anxiety and depression, preventing happiness, impeding wellbeing, relationships and success and lowering self-esteem. Seeking help at such times can be daunting, however, talking to someone in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment can help in the exploration of issues in order to resolve problems and reach personal goals. I am here to listen: drawing on a range of counselling theories, aiming to provide therapy that is suited to the needs, issues and personal preferences that you may have.
I have supported people experiencing a diverse range of emotional and psychological issues in their personal and working lives, including anxiety, depression, loss and relationship issues. My aim is to help you challenge and reflect both on current concerns and issues/events in the past that may be preventing you from moving forward.
I gained extensive experience whilst training with a counselling service in South Wales: my work in the community involved helping individuals who struggled with a diverse range of issues including bereavement/loss, alienation, anxiety, stress, OCD, self-harm, PTSD, family issues, abuse and post-natal depression amongst other areas.
I have previously undertaken Child Protection Training, and am committed to regular supervision and on-going training courses to ensure I continuously up date my knowledge and skills, for example courses/events i have undertaken include, Self Harm; Addiction; Art Therapy; Relations Depth and Emotional Connection; European Symposium on Addictive Disorders and an Integrative Approach for Working with OCD; CPD on Relationship Counselling; Conference for Children and Young People. I also continue to keep up to date through articles and research on related issues.
I am a member of the National Counselling Society and can be found on the society's Accredited Register: I am also a registered member of the BACP and abide by its ethical code of practice.
So, if you are experiencing problems in your present or are struggling to cope with those from your past, then talking to a trained counsellor can help you make sense of your situation.
