**UNFORTUNATELY, MY PRIVATE PRACTICE IS CURRENTLY CLOSED, AND I AM UNABLE TO TAKE ON ANY NEW REFERRALS OR OFFER ANY APPOINTMENTS**
I am a Qualified Counsellor and a Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am also an Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society and an Accredited Member of The Foundation for Infant Loss.
My continued voluntary work for a mental health charity allows me to provide counselling support to adults and young people within the community. I specialise in working with people with hidden disabilities and chronic pain conditions, particularly Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome and Fibromyalgia.
People seek counselling for a variety of reasons, and it is "okay not to be okay sometimes". If you have not had counselling before or have had a poor experience in the past, you may have mixed feelings or feel nervous about attending therapy. Warmth, genuineness and honesty are at the heart of my approach. The working relationship is key to a successful counselling experience and is one built around trust, respect and mutual understanding without fear of judgment, rejection or repercussion.
Human beings are unique and not all therapy approaches suit all people. I have been trained to use an integrative approach allowing me to tailor sessions to suit your specific needs and circumstances. My role is not to offer advice or solutions but to listen, empathise, encourage and empower you to make self-imposed decisions and positive change. Whilst I may not have magic wand, I can offer a "helping hand" to guide you through distressing times and accompany you on your journey of self-discovery.
For the foreseeable future, I will be offering remote counselling only via telephone or Zoom only. To take into consideration the financial impact of the pandemic, I do offer some low-cost appointments for those experiencing financial difficulty to provide an affordable and accessible service. Please enquire for my current availability. I am able to offer daytime, evening and weekend appointments.
