Welcome to Marble White Counselling. I work with Adults, Families, Young People/Children and Couples. I am on Accredited Register's for both Adults and Children/Young People. This demonstrates that the practitioner has been assessed as having the skills and competences to work professionally in these areas.
I am a qualified online counsellor and have many years experience of working online and via the telephone as a counsellor and supervisor. Research by Batastini et al. (2001) shows that counselling online is just as effective as face-to-face counselling. Counselling online or via the telephone has the benefits of accessing therapy in the comfort of your own home. There is no travel, no parking and clients have a range of different mediums to choose from, so they can decide which one is best for them.
Online counselling or supervision can be via Skype Webcam, WhatsApp Video Call or Psychology Today Video Call. These platforms are very similar to face-to-face counselling.

I have a background in Education, Training and Adult Mental Health. In addition to working with Adults, Families, Young People, Children and Couples, I have worked in a Secondary School as a School Counsellor. I have also worked in a primary school dealing with children who have behavioural and special educational needs. Therefore, I am experienced in managing challenging behaviour and have specific expertise in Autism and Asperger's.
I hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate and I am Data Protection Registered. I am also a Qualified Supervisor of Counsellors, so I am able to offer Supervision as part of my practice. Whilst my core approach is Humanistic, I can supervise counsellors from other modalities, as I am able to translate theoretical language across models.
Other specialist areas include Relationship Difficulties, Depression, Addiction and Abuse. I embark upon monthly supervision to ensure I am offering you a professional service and attend regular trainings to keep my practice current.
I worked for several years as a Voluntary Counsellor at Off The Record. I supported both Young People, Adults and Parents and supervised support workers in managing the above issues. I helped assess candidates who were transferring into a counsellor role and delivered a workshop on Depression. I also trained new volunteers entering the service, offering information on how to deal with Relationship Difficulties, Suicidal Intentions and Abuse.
