I am a qualified integrative counsellor working with individuals. I hold an Advanced Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, and I am an accredited registrant of the National Counselling Society.
I work privately as a therapist, and have a wealth of valuable experience working with a diverse range of individuals and their issues including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, stress, self harm, self worth, self esteem, relationship issues, eating disorders, OCD, anger, gender and identity, grief and loss, personal growth and development. I also work with Cruse as a bereavement volunteer and for the NHS as an honorary counselling volunteer with the Youth Counselling Service, part of Mindsight Surrey CAMHS.
My theoretical approach is integrative which means I draw on different theories which enables me to work with each person individually, using the best approach for that person. I focus on what is happening with the person in the present, and may sometimes find it helps to talk about the past, but only if it is necessary to help with understanding how it is effecting someone now. By exploring what you are thinking, feeling and your experiences, changes can be made to enable you to move forward with your life in a way that you want it to.
I feel privileged every time I work with someone, sharing their story with me, and seeing the changes that they make to improve their life.
