My aim is to offer my clients a supportive and safe space for them to explore and work through their challenges. I am trained, primarily, as a Person Centred Therapist. This means that actively listening to my clients, working together to find a new perspective and approach to their situations to enable them to make the positive steps toward their goals and in their lives. I can also draw upon other theoretical frameworks using other approaches as I believe that counselling isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ process.
I am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society and a member of the BACP working within their ethical guidelines and professional boundaries. I hold a current DBS check and a fully insured.
I have been a Therapist for 4 years. My work experience is with MIND BLMK where I was a facilitator and support worker for a group session, MIND Matters. We discussed and worked together on understanding anxiety, stress, stigma, depression and self-defeating behaviours and then looked to find ways in which the service users were able to approach their individual issues and move forwards towards a positive, productive and pro-active outcome.
I currently work for MIND as a counsellor and also have private clients.
To continue my own development and to ensure that I am working ethically I attend regular supervision sessions. I have also attended Continuous Professional Development courses, including Drug and Alcohol Awareness and Food Addiction.
