I first became involved in counselling whilst working as a Midwife, and helping to support women, their partners and families through what can be a challenging life event. This extended to caring and supporting women and their families through the difficult times of miscarriage, stillbirth and neonatal deaths. In 2011 I became qualified in counselling and began working for a local charity to support women and their partners, enabling them to come to terms with their loss and reach the point where they feel able to move forward with their lives.
Seeing how effective counselling therapy can be, restoring a person to a point where they feel able to move on and begin living again encouraged me to further my education. I am now a qualified and accredited psychotherapeutic counsellor and follow an integrated style of therapy utilising different modalities such as person centred, psychodynamic, CBT and others to create individualised treatment plans. I work in collaborations with my clients to understand their issues and help them find their way forward, utilising different strategies, developing coping mechanisms and enabling them to regain control and relief from stress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, addictions, domestic abuse, and many other life limiting issues. I also utilise hypnotherapy, deep relaxation techniques and mindfulness to enhance my clients wellbeing.
I can provide a warm and comfortable environment where my clients can feel safe and secure as we work together exploring their issues. Counselling can be for just a few sessions or more long-term. I welcome enquires by phone or email without any obligation.
