I have a gentle and empathetic approach and am passionate about helping clients to achieve their goals. I am also an experienced, qualified and fully insured counsellor who works in an empathetic, safe and non-judgemental way. I formerly worked in the education sector for many years. Before opening my private practice, I worked with those affected by cancer. I continue to see clients in private practice who have long term illnesses or who are waiting for surgery.
I have a Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Practice and continually update my skills. At present I am working towards a Diploma in Sleep Consultancy.
As a counsellor I have learnt that clients need a gentle and calm approach, with time to explore possibilities and self -care.
Each session is confidential. I will not speak to anyone else about you or reveal your identity to anyone.
I am a member of the NCS (National Counselling Society) and the National Hypnotherapy Society (NHS). I endeavour at all times to adhere to their Ethical Frameworks.
I work in a Person- Centred way, following the theory developed by Carl Rogers. Rogers believed that given the right conditions all people have the potential to grow and develop in a positive way. He believed that people function best when they are given the space to find their own way forward in a non- directive, non -judgemental, empathic environment. Although my core work is in the Person- Centred Approach, I may feel other tools could be helpful and appropriate. I frequently draw on Cognitive Behavioural Techniques to enable change and to develop positive thinking.
Do you experience stress and anxiety? I can help you overcome those things that are holding you back and look forward to hearing from you.
