My name is Melissa and I am a warm, thoughtful, empathic person, which makes me a compassionate counsellor who will genuinely care about you, the difficulties you’re facing and the improvement of your wellbeing. I am an integrative counsellor, which means I use different skills and techniques to work with whatever you bring to the sessions.
You might want a safe space where you can talk freely and openly about thoughts and feelings you are struggling with. This also might involve supporting you to make connections from current difficulties to past experiences. Helping you understand yourself and your difficulties at a deeper level, which can lead to personal growth and healing.
You might want supported to manage how you are feeling and use the sessions to alleviate painful and distressing symptoms experienced from trauma, anxiety, stress or depression. I have a wide range of experience providing individually tailored strategies and techniques to help you work through your difficulties.
Or you might want supported through a painful loss, relationship problems or help with low self-esteem and confidence.
Whatever brings you to counselling, you should know I am fully committed to providing you with an environment where you will feel safe, accepted, and supported to work through your difficulties and make lasting changes.
'One day at a time, one step at a time, one breath at a time'.
What next?
If you feel I am the right counsellor for you, I offer a free first telephone consultation. Email me at melissa_mcnamee@outlook.com and I will get back to you, generally within 24 hours, to organise a mutually convenient time for us to talk about how I can help you.
After this, if you wish to proceed, we will book in our first session. I offer one to one, 50-minute sessions, online or by telephone.
