Hi, my name is Jo and I provide time and a confidential safe space to help you explore your thoughts and feelings, to identify the small steps that will help you move forward and start to provide answers as to why you are feeling the way you are.

I have worked with people of all ages in a therapeutic way for over 18 years. Having qualified with an advanced diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling in 2021, I launched my own practice. The aim being to support others to have some time for themselves, to explore mechanisms for them to find a way through how they are feeling and to take the next steps towards where they want to be.

I am an experienced Adult, Child and Adolescent Counsellor, focussing on Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling, using Person Centred, Humanistic, Psychodynamic approaches, as well as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

I am a fully qualified Hypnotherapist, and can therefore offer a wide range relaxation techniques that can be useful in a number of situations such as alleviating anxiety, improving self esteem etc

I have also worked as a leader and manager within local authorities and mental health charities providing quality supervision, training and development. This led me to become a qualified counsellor which further enhanced my therapeutic practice giving it a firm base on theoretical and practical techniques. It has given me the knowledge and confidence to implement various modalities, whilst keeping you, the person seeking support at the centre of my practice, whilst being able to walk alongside you.

My constant aim is to provide a safe and ethical environment from which you can find ways to work through any feelings you may be struggling with, processing traumatic events you may have witnessed along with coaching, empowering and development.

As well as working with Adults, I also work with children from the age of 9-18. My therapy uses a combination of tools and techniques such as; Talking therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Gestalt therapy, Mindfulness and Solution focused therapy to ensure that we can get you to a place and point in your life where you’re feeling better and are able to move forward in a positive direction.

I am very passionate about the difference that can be made through early intervention and how therapy can support and help Children, Young people and Adults to manage and cope with current issues and concerns. This can also assist to build up resilience and develop coping strategies to use with any issues or concerns you may face in the rest of your life.

I offer supervision to both qualified counsellors and counselling students to ensure effective oversight and reflection opportunities are undertaken.
