The healing effect (Mentally & Physically) of releasing emotions and old beliefs is what drew me to train as a Counsellor and leave my career after 23 years as a Diagnostic Radiographer. Working within the hospital environment and meeting staff, patients, carers and families increased my understanding for where I could help people heal.
A key element to the success of therapy is the relationship between Counsellor and Client. Both need to feel comfortable working with each other and have a sense that they are the right fit to share this very personal journey. With this in mind I offer a free initial consultation where this assessment can be made. You get a feel of what it might be like to work with me and I check that my skill set matches your need. As an accredited member of the National Counselling Society you can be reassured of my commitment to working ethically, professionally and within my capabilities.
Clients have often remarked on the benefit of sharing their thoughts and feelings with a third party, not having to worry about being an emotional burden or the impact of offloading. Having a safe, understanding, non-judgmental environment enables you the space and clarity to explore and work through whatever is bothering you. I work with clients who present with; Anxiety,Bereavement, Depression,Fears and Phobias,Lowered Self Confidence and Self Worth,Loss and Grief,Palliative Care, Panic Attacks, Insomnia,Physical Illnesses,Relationship Issues,Stress and Trauma.
