My name is Carla Polhill and I have been working as an Integrative Counsellor since May 2017. I hold an advanced diploma in counselling accredited by the National Counselling Society and I work in accordance with the NCS Code of Ethics.
I have experience of supporting people in their process to overcome personal difficulties associated with a range of issues including anxiety, grief/bereavement, depression, trauma, work stress, caring, relationship difficulties and break ups, domestic violence and abuse.
As an Integrative Counsellor my purpose is to recognise you as the whole person, taking into account your mental, physical and emotional needs. I draw on techniques and tools from different modalities to tailor an individual approach for you. My role is to build a trusting and non-judgmental relationship that helps you develop self-awareness. When you understand the causes of your concerns or triggers for your behaviour, you can confidently set goals and develop new behaviours to improve your satisfaction with life. The key modalities that I draw upon are: Person-Centred, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Solution Focussed Brief Therapy.
The work is absolutely led by your needs as the client and held in a therapeutic space supported by my offering of empathy, respect, acceptance and honesty. My intention is to be by your side, without judgement, as you journey through your process.
