During the COVID outbreak I have to restrict my work to telephone or video counselling in which I already have considerable experience and success. I will be happy to answer any questions you have - just contact me.
I am an experienced counsellor practicing in Edinburgh.
I understand how all of us troubled from time to time and that we sometimes need help to resolve issues that left unresolved might lead to problems that might overwhelm us later.
If you feel a need to reach out for help and support, I offer a warm, empathic, non-judgemental, safe and confidential environment to explore what you wish to talk about. My philosophy of counselling is based on the belief that each of us has it within ourselves to solve our problems, but sometimes we need help to explore and find our inner resources.
We are all individuals, and I know that what works for one person may not work for another. For me as a counsellor it is important to be flexible and pragmatic, working collaboratively with the client to provide a tailored approach that draws from different approaches to meet the client's individual needs and preferences. Counselling is about helping you find your way in life; not about the counsellor leading you where he or she believes you should go.
As a qualified couples counsellor, I work with couples who have lost the way in their relationship, as well as individual adults of all ages. I love working with students, where I have had a great deal of success, and I have an interest in men's issues and a passion for working with people experiencing or surviving all kinds of abuse, especially where the residual effects of childhood trauma have led to problems later in life.
