Please note: I do not have availability until 1st November 2023 at the very earliest.
I am a fully qualified person-centred counsellor with fourteen years' experience in counselling and mental health. I am also a senior accredited registrant with The National Counselling Society and I adhere to their Code of Ethics and appear on their Accredited Register. I have worked in a variety of different settings, including Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) and the NHS, as well as a number of different voluntary organisations.
I strive to create a safe space in which we can work together on exploring what has brought you to counselling at this time. Although fundamentally person-centred in my approach, I have integrated tools and techniques into my practice over the years, including some cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). I offer both short- and long-term counselling, during which we can manage the “symptoms”, explore the cause or a mixture of the two. A counselling session lasts 50 minutes, which is known as the therapeutic hour, and I generally recommend that it takes place on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
Various morning, afternoon and evening appointments available on a Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Please contact me to check availability or visit my website to book online.
My office is easily accessible by car from Dumbarton and the surrounding areas, including Balloch, Clydebank, Erskine and Helensburgh. Situated just off the A82 and only 15 minutes from the M8, it is only 30 minutes from the west end of Glasgow and another 5 from the city centre. It is also well served by public transport being a 10 minute walk from the nearest bus stop and a 15 minute walk from the nearest train station.
There is an accessible car park and entrance to the rear and, once inside, accessible toilets on each level, as well as a lift. Please note that there are five stairs to access the office internally, although wheelchair access may be possible externally.
