Sometimes, we don’t feel we can approach those closest to us. We may feel they judge us on what we say, or we’re causing them to worry about us, or simply that they may take offence at our concerns. In such times we need to talk to someone who doesn’t know our life circumstances and is there just for us.
One counselling approach doesn’t suit everyone, so calling on different therapies as and when they are appropriate in our discussions is a useful and productive method. This is the Integrative Approach and is carried out in an informal and comfortable way encouraging openness and providing the appropriate support required at any point.
I offer face-to-face local appointments, or Zoom and telephone appointments for further afield.
Almost everyone is used to chatting on the telephone, either through their work or curled up on the sofa with a hot drink in hand. During the Pandemic many counselling services had to move to zoom/online support, which has been shown to work well. The anonymity of the phone has increasingly helped us to open up, resulting in more effective therapy. Not having to travel to the formal setting of an office means logistics are easier and we are relaxed and comfortable in our own surroundings during the sessions; there’s no need to worry about asking to have a window opened, for a glass of water or some tissues, you control your environment.
If you would like to meet face-to-face I offer appointments on a Tuesday or Wednesday with more flexible dates if you would like to try support by telephone or zoom. Whichever method you prefer, I would love to hear from you and to help you get your life where you would like it to be, the new, stronger version of yourself. I am happy to offer a free initial consultation for you to understand whether we can work together.
