When life becomes a struggle, we all need to feel that we can access strategies to get through those difficult times so that we can be more at peace with ourselves. By working collaboratively, my aim is to help you to change your beliefs, behaviours and ways of thinking. Once you are able to think in a more rational, flexible, and accepting way about the issues that are troubling you, you will be able to apply these skills to many other areas of your life.
I specialise in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy, a practical, goal-focused philosophy of life that is one of the models of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Although REBT forms the foundation of my approach, I also use other therapies and techniques that are appropriate to each client, including Solution-Focused Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, relaxation and mindfulness techniques. REBT is an evidence-based model of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and is endorsed by NICE as being very helpful in treating anxiety and depression. It can also be very beneficial for a range of other problems that life can throw at us.
