I have a background in psychology, I worked utilizing a behavioural approach for both the NHS and independent assessment and treatment providers for over 10 years. I have experience in working with a diverse client groups including Learning Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health and Personality Disorders. I have worked within specialist units and in the community with both mainstream and forensic client groups.
I trained in Rationale Emotive Behaviour Therapy which is a form of CBT with a strong emphasis on believes and attitudes being at the core of psychological disturbance.
This is a trans-diagnostic approach and can be applied to a wide range of problems and clinical conditions ranging from PTSD, OCD, phobias, depression, anxiety and anger, insomnia, problems with relationships, low self-esteem, procrastination, daily living difficulties.
I use Integrative approach with elements of Mindfulness, Compassion Focus Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, Solution Focus Therapy, Schema Therapy and Assertiveness when addressing underlying aspects of emotional problems such as control, fairness, reciprocation, perfectionism, purity, failure, dealing with uncertainty and many more.
