With over 20 years of counselling experience, I initially supported colleagues in a corporate environment, gradually expanding to diverse sectors such as education, voluntary work, and private practice.
Currently managing my private practice, I offer counselling for Children & Young People (CYP) and Adults, both online and in-person.
Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, I co-established a nationwide service providing free emotional support to frontline workers/healthcare professionals in the UK.
As an accredited Psychotherapist, I adhere to ethical codes set by the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
In adult counselling, I tailor my approach to the client's needs, providing a confidential space to explore thoughts and feelings. My goal is to assist clients in managing emotions, expressing them healthily, developing a positive life attitude, and recognising and utilising their strengths.
Specialising in counselling young people, I hold a post-qualification Certificate in Counselling Young People. I work with individuals aged 10 and above, addressing issues like self-esteem, coping with anxieties, bullying, and peer pressure.
My expertise extends to handling suicidal thoughts and self-harm, incorporating creative methods like play, art, and crafts to encourage expression and insight into the unconscious mind.
I adapt my approach based on the preferences of the young clients, emphasising flexibility without imposing decisions, advice, or beliefs.
Being on a CYPT accredited register underscores my competency and training standards when working with CYP clients.
If you're looking for a counsellor, you can search our register by location or name, and you can also check whether someone is on the NCPS accredited register.
