I'm Becky, a dedicated and experienced counsellor with a Bachelor's degree in counselling and over two decades of experience supporting children, young people, and adults. As a creative practitioner, group facilitator, mentor, and counsellor, I bring a diverse skill set to my practice, and I am currently pursuing my Master's degree. I'm passionate about guiding individuals through life's challenges, providing a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore emotions and find solutions. I believe in your inherent resilience and strengths, and I'm here to empower you on your journey toward healing and growth. Outside of counselling, I enjoy yoga and mindfulness, which help me maintain balance and perspective.
Working with children and young people is a deeply rewarding aspect of my practice. I create a supportive environment where they can express their thoughts and emotions freely. My approach is tailored to meet the unique needs of each child and adolescent, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, peer pressure, and identity exploration. I use age-appropriate techniques and therapies to help them build resilience, develop healthy coping strategies, and foster self-confidence. By collaborating with families and educational establishments, I support the holistic development and well-being of young people, empowering them to navigate growing up with strength and self-awareness.
In educational settings, I've collaborated with students facing academic stress, peer pressure, and personal identity exploration. Whether in schools or universities, I help individuals navigate transitions, manage anxiety, and develop essential coping skills for academic and personal success.
My experience also extends to community organisations, where I've provided counselling services to individuals from diverse backgrounds facing a wide range of challenges. From supporting adults in crisis intervention to facilitating support groups for marginalised communities, I am dedicated to fostering healing and empowerment in every client I work with.
I have significant experience in addressing various mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief, and bereavement. I've worked with clients to identify triggers, develop coping strategies, and foster resilience. Additionally, I've supported individuals and families coping with loss, helping them navigate the complex emotions and adjustments that come with bereavement, creating a supportive environment for healing.
Moreover, I address issues related to abuse, trauma, and anger management. I've worked with survivors of abuse to rebuild trust and regain a sense of safety, and I've supported individuals in processing traumatic experiences and managing overwhelming emotions.
I also have extensive experience in supporting neurodiverse individuals, including those with ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and other neurodevelopmental differences. I've helped clients navigate social interactions, develop coping strategies, and embrace their unique strengths.
My diverse background has equipped me with a deep understanding of the multifaceted needs individuals may encounter in various life circumstances. I'm committed to providing compassionate and effective support tailored to each client's unique experiences and goals.
