I am an accredited Pluralistic counsellor, my client work is person centred and largely Humanistic, however, when needed I can incorporate other approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or CBT, Gestalt Therapy and the Psychodynamic approach. I work in a gentle, collaborative and intuitive way.

My clinical hours were completed with Cruse Bereavement where I received specific training including; input from other charities such as SANDs, Tommy’s and Winston Wish. My client work covered areas such as complex grief, trauma, bereavement by suicide and disenfranchised grief. I can also support anticipatory loss or pre-bereavement and pet loss.

My additional training in Children and Young People’s Counselling meets the BACP’s core competencies and uses a strength based approach. I have a creative and flexible style which uses therapeutic play, painting, clay, drawing and open ended resources to help client’s explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviours. My aim is to work with the child’s/young person’s interests, needs and circumstances in an attuned way. Offering a safe and welcoming place to work through any difficulties as well as celebrating strengths.

My current caseload of clients is hugely varied. I enjoy working with all ages and backgrounds, so whether you are six or one-hundred and six I can help support you through life’s challenges and transitions. I have experience of offering face to face, telephone and online counselling in order to meet clients needs and circumstances.

In addition to my counselling qualifications I am trained in Special Educational Needs and Disability or SEND law, and Early Years.

I have experience of working in a variety of areas including but not limited to neurodiversity, autism, autism in girls, mental health, Emotional based school avoidance, isolation, anxiety, paranoia, identity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, self esteem, chronic fatigue/or ME, long term health conditions, self harm, suicidal ideation, cancer support, brain tumours, transitions, loss, addictions and relationship issues.

For me counselling is a collaborative, inclusive process, which aims to meet client’s needs in a helpful way and inclusive way, empowering us to be seen, valued and heard.

Please contact me if you have any questions about my work. Jane.
