I am a Psychotherapist/ Counsellor, I hold a Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. My training incorporates key therapy approaches within a Pluralistic framework.
The basic principle of Pluralistic therapy is that different people are helped by different processes and activities at different times, and that the best way of deciding on how therapy should proceed is to engage the client in a process of shared decision-making.
My primary approach is Person-Centred therapy.
Person-centred therapy is a humanistic approach, which deals with the ways in which individuals see themselves, rather than how a counsellor interprets the client’s unconscious thoughts and/ or ideas.
As a therapist I recognise that people come to therapy for many reasons. It could be that, for example, you feel weighed down by feelings of anxiety about a problem or find it difficult to make friends and experience loneliness regularly as a result. Well, whatever the problem you can talk to me.
My approach takes a holistic (general) position, to understand the life experiences of each client, their relationship with themselves, with family and friends, and the world around them.
I believe we have the potential within us to make the changes we want.
I will support you in your process and when you feel most vulnerable, provide a supportive and trusting space, where you can, express yourself, feel understood and reflect on your experiences without judgement.
I am happy to offer Walking Therapy, which can be discussed. This means walking in a park close to you at an agreed time and conducting the therapy on foot.
I hope you found this both informative and helpful.
