I'm a qualified integrative counsellor which means I do not follow one particular theory or model of working. I feel that each person is an individual and therefore work with clients to explore ways of working which would be suited to them and their circumstances. I am an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and am on an Accredited Register that has been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. The Accredited Register programme was set up by the Government to improve standards and safety for the benefit of the public. This accreditation demonstrates my commitment to high professional standards, to enhancing safety and delivering a better service.
I have experience working with various issues including relationships within family & work settings, domestic violence, coping with illness, loneliness, problems with confidence, self-esteem and all aspects of mental wellness.
Having trained and worked with the St Christopher's Hospice & Bromley Bereavement Service teams I have extensive experience as a therapist working with clients who have suffered bereavement. This includes loss through long and short-term illness, sudden death, miscarriage and suicide. Whilst working at the Hospice I also completed their training in working with childhood bereavement for their Candle team.
I have also worked with parents and carers who are having difficulties with a young person in their care including violence, police and social service involvement and communication.
I have knowledge of working with issues around identity, sexuality and gender and have undergone further training with leading trans organisation Gendered Intelligence. I completed their training course for counsellors and therapists - Working alongside Trans and Gender Variant people and I am registered on their Directory for Therapists and Counsellors.
