After spending 30 years in HR and corporate business I retrained as a counsellor and Bowen therapist, offering both from my Coleford clinic. I offer Emotional Therapeutic Counselling, a Freudian modality seeking to work with the emotions and the inner child to find the core reasons for any emotional issues and address them. While I also use CBT and coaching techniques to help you manage day to day, I don't limit my support to coping strategies but look for a long term resolution.
I work with you and your needs on the day rather than applying a process or trying to turn you into some pre-defined version of 'normal'. My goal is to leave you comfortable in your own skin, whether that means helping you accept who you are or to make any changes you feel you want to make.
I am non-judgemental so whatever you're struggling with you can safely share with me in complete confidentiality. There's nothing you can tell me about yourself or what you've done that will shock me.
Counselling is not only for people with long standing psychological problems or mental health conditions. Anyone can benefit from a few sessions to explore any areas of dis-ease in your life and while some clients will go on to work with me for several years, it's entirely up to you how many sessions you have.
If your emotional issues are related to, or giving rise to, physical issues I can also use Bowen therapy to relieve the symptoms of those. Bowen is very relaxing, great for relieving muscle tension and also beneficial for longer term conditions such as arthritis, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia etc.
