I am a person centered counsellor and a registerant member of the NCS. I work within the NCS ethical framework. My aim is to listen and assist you in making sense of whatever bring you to counselling. I believe that everyone has the ability to change the situation that causes them distress. As a counsellor I do not hold answers about your life however you do and by creating a trusting, non judgmental environment to explore anything you wish I will support and guide you as you find your own answers.
I work with with a range of clients who bring many issues including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, abuse, suicidal thoughts and addiction. Taking the first step is always difficult and I fully understand this which is why I offer a free initial session without obligation. For more information on what you might expect when attending counselling please see my website and do not hesitate to ask me any questions.
I am located close to the University of York and work closely with student mental health, I have substantial experience in issues faced by students and welcome enquiries from them.
I have recently completed training in Autism within the counselling setting which has solidified my understanding and will underpin my upcoming practice, I have just over a years experience of working with clients with autism from age 16 upwards and welcome further enquiries.
I offer very flexible appointment times including evenings alongside competitive session rates and concessions available by discussion.
Please note that I unfortunately do not have a waiting area or toilet facilities on the premises.
