I am a qualified Mental Health Therapist who has worked in the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service ( CAMHS) for 11 years. Prior to this I worked for 5 years as a family and relationship counsellor with Relate. I have worked with both young people and parents delivering evidence based therapies in accordance with NICE guidelines, and offer 1:1 sessions or group work. I have experience in working with most mental health conditions, attachment difficulties and autism.
I have a specialist interest in working with parents of children who self-harm and can deliver support for parents and children on a 1:1 basis or in groups.
I have completed a 2 year training program in Cognitive Analytic Therapy and can offer this treatment on a 1:1 basis for adults 16 and above.
What is CAT?
CAT offers an individual approach within a time–limited framework that is appropriate for a wide range of psychological problems, with particular value for complex emotional and relational difficulties (e.g. personality disorders). CAT aims to help people to understand the origins of their distress, which are often rooted in early experiences, and how their difficulties may be maintained by the ways that they have learned to cope or to manage their problems, feelings and needs.
If you are seeking mental or emotional health support please call for an informal discussion.
