How Can Person-Centred Counselling Help?

As a person-centred counsellor, I believe that there are no one-size-fits-all solutions for difficult issues. I believe that deep down you have the ability and resources for growth, but in order to find this inner wisdom, you may need an empathic and non-judgemental space with someone who truly listens for growth to take place. A plant needs certain conditions to flourish properly. So do we. It is this kind of considerate and nourishing space that I offer you.

What is Eco-Therapy?

Ecotherapy (or Nature Therapy) connects people with nature for their mental health and wellbeing; it has been proven to help with anxiety and depression. I am a tutor for the Ten Directions eco-therapy training programme and I can incorporate eco-therapy into your sessions if this sounds appealing to you. This might involve me giving you nature-based activities to do between our sessions, or us working in creative ways with nature or natural objects. It is entirely up to you if you want to work with nature; we can simply talk if you prefer.

More About My Work and My Experience

I qualified as a person-centred counsellor back in 2009. My counselling sessions offer you a space to talk through anything that is on your mind, including things that may feel impossible to talk about with others in your life. I am down to earth and open-minded; I have over a decade’s worth of experience working with sexuality and gender identity as well as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, shame and many other issues. I also respect and embrace the spiritual aspect of our lives and this kind of exploration is very welcome in our sessions.

Do You Work Online or In-Person? Can I Meet You First Before I Pay Anything?

I offer video-call sessions online (via Zoom or similar platforms) to people all over the UK, or we can talk over the telephone. If you live in Midlothian (or if you can travel to Dalkeith, Bonnyrigg, Gorebridge or other Midlothian towns) I can meet you somewhere outdoors for walk-and-talk counselling. Nature is my office!

I offer a free initial 20-minute telephone/Zoom session for all potential clients so that you can get to know me a little before paying for sessions. There is no obligation to pay for a session if you feel that I am not the right person for you.

I hope this finds you well and I look forward to working with you soon.
