From time to time, we all lose our way in life. We may be hit out of the blue by something unexpected or devastating, or have gone years without quite realising the pain, shame or insecurities we'd been carrying around with us the whole time. Until one day, we decide enough is enough.

That's when we need to make change happen.

The first step towards change is deciding you are not going to stay where you are.

As your counsellor, I will be alongside you, offering guidance, strategies, support and a safe place where you will not be judged. We all need help sometimes and we need to be heard, without feeling invalidated, dismissed, or misunderstood. Perhaps you feel that you have no one you can speak to about what you are going through, or maybe you do, but when you try, people either cannot or do not seem to, get it. It can often be difficult for those who love us to hear us in the way we really need to be heard and, while their response may be offered with the best of intentions, ultimately it can leave us feeling more alone than ever.

This is when your change can start.

Working with me will provide you the time, space and opportunity to fully express and explore your emotions and experiences. It will allow you to process what is happening and understand it better. I will offer you practical tools and strategies that you can use in your every-day life, because I am a great believer that theory can only get you so far. So let's figure out what will work for you in reality!

I understand that you may be apprehensive about starting counselling, unsure of what to say or whether change is possible. These are all perfectly natural doubts and fears. My aim is always to provide a friendly, warm and relaxing environment in which you feel comfortable to laugh, cry and express every emotion in-between. However, as with any relationship, we need to get to know each other first! During our first sessions, I am happy to help you find your therapy feet and explore what you'd like to talk about at a pace that suits you. And then, we can take it from there...

I believe that therapy can only be effective if you feel that your counsellor is right for you. Therefore, I offer a free 15 minute consultation call, so that we can decide whether we are a good fit. Please email me to arrange a time for this and I look forward to speaking to you soon!
