I strongly believe that the relationship between you the client, and me the therapist, is at the heart of any work we may do together. I strive to be open and honest and work in a collaborative manner with no hidden agendas. I strive to offer a warm, welcoming relationship in which you can feel heard and safe enough to explore and work on whatever it is that is causing you distress.

I know that it takes courage to accept you need help, determination to contact a counsellor and commitment to attend counselling. My aim is to be a faithful companion to you on your journey during the time we work together. There is no formula as to how to live. I welcome the opportunity to work with you to find your own unique resolution to your problems.

Experience

I have the experience to, and am willing to, work with most issues that lead you to seek counselling or psychotherapy. Many clients come to me via their work, through their company's employee assist programme (EAP). Others seek me out privately. I work with individuals, normally 12+, however, I frequently see younger children with their parent(s) through an insurance company.

EAPs, in my experience, expect a counsellor to be able to work effectively with a very wide range of issues. I have therefore built up experience and expertise in many fields including work-related stress, anxiety and depression, low self-esteem, anger management, bereavement, addictions, working with teenagers, abuse (sexual, domestic, bullying, assault), trauma, neurodiversity, many health issues (including ME and Long Covid) and couple counselling.

Telephone Counselling/Video Consulting

Telephone or Video Counselling might be a good option for you. This may be due to distances involved, time commitments, preferring the anonymity that phone/video counselling can offer or just because it is more convenient for you. It may also be due to health restrictions.

Walking Counselling

Covid19 has challenged so much in our lives. A positive outcome for me is that I am offering walking counselling. I have always found solice and healing in nature and am delighted that walking counselling is something I can now offer.

What I offer

I offer both short-term and long-term contracts so that you can choose what suites your needs best. At the end of each session you can decide if you feel you want more sessions or not. If you would like to come again we then need to agree a mutually convenient time. I offer both daytime and early evening appointments. I do not work weekends.
