I have experience of working in several different ways and can offer these options depending on what you need and are drawn to:

Face to Face Therapy
You visit my private practice office in a cabin in my therapeutic garden. A light airy space which is private and not overlooked. As a fully qualified and experienced integrative counsellor with over 15 years experience in mental health. I draw on my knowledge of psychodynamic talking therapy, attachment focused therapy, play therapy, relational therapy, existential therapy, nature based mindfulness, eco-psychology depth perspectives (nature based) and creative art for people of all ages.

Outdoor Walk and Talk Therapy & Deeper Nature Sessions
I largely work somatically with a nature based model which supports you to ground in the natural world, using daily exercises, observations both external and internal, i.e sit spots, 4 direction orientation, nature connection mindfulness, body scans, visualisations, mirror walks etc. With some participants/clients we can introduce movement and dance or ceremony but this all depends on how the work evolves and what your personal interests are ?

Online or Telephone Sessions
During this time of uncertainty it is essential that we all care for our mental health and have access to the support we need. This is why I will be offering telephone, or video sessions ( Zoom or WhatsApp) to those who wish to access my services. I will support you to make sure all your sessions are completely confidential wherever you are based.

N.B. Please let me know on inquiry if you would like a free 20 minute intro either online or on the phone.

I am a truama informed therapist and I have extensive experience and knowledge around working with survivors of sexual, domestic and childhood abuse and I also trained to support those with adoption issues. Some parts of our history we may have never had a chance to speak about. Often just talking through a traumatic experience or difficult feelings with another person can be incredibly therapeutic.

If you decide that I am the right therapist for you, we will work together with what you bring, with the understanding that we will not simply examine the problem/issue in isolation but as a part of your world, seeing it in the wider context of your life and history.

Within our counselling relationship you will be free to express yourself - there are no thoughts or feelings that are 'out of bounds'. Whatever thoughts or feelings arise, we will explore these together and try to understand them.

As your counsellor I will not give you advice or tell you what to do. Instead I use my skills, intuition and training to support you in finding your own way forward, while you rediscover and build upon your own self esteem and confidence.

My outdoor practice has emerged through my passion to support people with mental health and personal development needs along with my love for the natural world. I have over 15 years experience in mental health, addiction, sexual trauma, depression & anxiety.
I have worked with people of all ages and genders as a counsellor/ psychotherapist and for the last 4 years I have integrated outdoor nature based therapies into my practice.
I completed Accredited Diploma in Regenerative Eco Psychology and Nature Based Practice in March 2022 to underpin this learning. In 2021, I moved my home and practice to Gosbeck in Mid Suffolk. In this location we have a private and confidentiaL nature friendly therapy garden with open countryside and a SSSI woodland closeby where I can walk, sit and facilitate nature connection clients.

Studies now show that people with strong connections with nature report feeling happier and more content. Being outside in nature brings its own healing element and this combines with exploring the symbols and mirroring that nature can offer to support recovery from mental illness, trauma, stress, anxiety as well as to support personal development and meaningful connection to the natural world.

Most importantly, when humans have a better connection to nature, they take care of the natural world in proactive ways.

My approach is informative and will support you to relate to your body as an integral aspect of your life and experience. In the western world educators and organisations have often split the mind and body. We have also become progressively split from the natural world from which we came and grounding and connecting with the universal power of nature has been proven to support trauma recovery. Using a more nature based approach supports you to begin to understand and listen to your body at the same time supporting you to release deep set anxieties and anger in a more caring and connected way.
