NCPS | Sarah Champion
Sarah Champion

From 2015 to 2016, she served as Shadow Minister for Preventing Abuse and Domestic Violence as part of the Shadow Home Office team, and from 2016 to 2017, she was Shadow Secretary of State for Women and Equalities. She was born in Essex in 1969 and moved to Northamptonshire in 1977. She went to a comprehensive school and graduated from the University of Sheffield with a BA in Psychology, being the first in her family to get a degree, but could only afford to attend because she was fortunate enough to get a full grant – and there were no tuition fees. Sarah is involved in many campaigns such as those on child protection, ending violence against women and girls, support for victims, and equality and human rights. She understands how important mental health is and we look forward to making progress together.
