I have worked in people jobs all my life including in catering, education, support work, tutoring in adult education and youth work and relate well to people from different backgrounds and circumstances. I chose to train to become a counsellor, completing initial training twenty years ago and pursuing this further when family commitments allowed.

My original degree was in Social Sciences, gained at Glasgow University, I have a post-graduate certificate in Youth work from Edinburgh, and a teaching adults qualification from Swindon College.

I am a warm, compassionate, patient, empathic person with a sense of humour. I believe life experience has contributed to my becoming an understanding and tolerant person.

  • Qualifications & Experience
I trained in Humanistic therapies, gaining a degree from Chichester University.
I have accreditation with NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society) and registration with BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).
I work to the ethical guidelines of both and have full insurance cover.
I have undertaken further short course training which informs my general practice for example working with gender variant people; bereavement and grief; adult survivors of childhood abuse; suicide; safeguarding, creative therapy, and more.

I work within the ethical guidelines of NCPS and BACP. My aim is for our work to support positive change in your life and avoid any harm.

My training required that I undergo counselling sessions for myself so I understand the nervousness that can come with taking the step to contact someone and book to talk. I've appreciated learning about myself and know that this enables me to be a better counsellor/therapist.
