Launching today, on World Mental Health Day, is a coalition of leading UK mental health organisations and professional bodies calling for greater recognition and investment in how our sector can play a role in supporting the UK in the climate emergency.
The Climate Minds Coalition, of which the NCPS is proud to be an active, founding member, aims to influence leaders and impact on policies around the effects of climate change on people’s mental health.
We’re working alongside a number of organisations across the UK to raise awareness of mental and emotional health issues related to the climate through responding to discussions in the media and political spheres, by sharing and developing best practice, and producing reports & resources.
We recognise that there is still a long way to go in terms of our collective understanding of the breadth and depth of the impact that this is having on people, and we’re drawing on the expertise offered by the coalition to ensure that our members feel confident and equipped with all the information they need to support their clients with this.
