The government has announced additional funding for Early Support Hubs. In October 2023, they shared that £4.92 million would be made available to support 10 Early Support Hubs, and this figure has now increased to £7.92 million to support 24 hubs across England.
The hubs will support earlier access to mental health support, including counselling, as well as other psychological therapies, advice, and signposting.
The Society is delighted by this update, as it supports our calls to meet children and young people where they are in order to access support, and thanks the Fund the Hubs campaign group (including BACP, Black Thrive Global, Centre for Mental Health, The Children’s Society, Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition, Mind, Youth Access, and YoungMinds) for their tireless work on this.
