The article explores why people often find themselves pushing others away, even those closest to them and includes some of the following reasons for doing so:
- Not wanting to hurt people
- Feeling like a burden
- Struggling with a lack of energy
- Thinking that others might not want them around
Depression affects a lot of us in the UK; according to the Office of National Statistics "in the financial year ending 2014 the proportion of people aged 16 and over in the UK that showed some evidence of anxiety or depression, according to the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12) increased to 19.7%, from 18.3% in the previous year"
