In line with celebrations that are taking place this year to mark this most auspicious occasion, we at the National Counselling Society (NCS) are proud to celebrate the fact that recognition of the Accredited Register programme continues to grow.
The NCS holds a register of counsellors, which is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) through their Accredited Register programme ensuring our Registrants deliver a safe, ethical and high-quality counselling service. The NHS firmly supports the Accredited Register programme and we are proud to be part of such recognition developments within the NHS:
. NHS Choices - lists Accredited Registers to reflect what should be equality of choice for all clients and patients
https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/counselling/.
. NHS Employers - have added content encouraging the use and detailing the benefits of Accredited Registers.

. Health Education England has amended the information on the NHS Health Careers website also to be in line with the aforementioned changes on NHS Choices and NHS employer’s sites, and promote inclusive hiring practices.

In addition to recognition within the NHS, the Department for Education recommends Accredited Registers and mentions the NCS specifically in its "Blue Print for Schools" document, and the General Medical Council highlights Accredited Registers as relevant to delegation and referral.
