NCPS | Working with Clients with Dissociative Identity Disorder -…

The aims of this day are to raise awareness of dissociation and its role in surviving abuse or trauma.

The topics that will be covered are:

• The dissociation continuum and the spectrum of dissociative disorders including dissociative identity disorder (DID)

• The reality of living with dissociative identity disorder

• Practical ways to support clients who experience complex dissociation

The speakers are Kathryn Livingston and Melanie Goodwin from First Person Plural. Both are survivors of childhood abuse and live with dissociative identity disorder, (DID). Both have received DID focused therapy for this and have gained good insight into how this affects their daily living through understanding, and have learnt over the years, strategies and techniques that help them to stay grounded and able to live full lives.

During this day, they will look at the origins and the consequences of DID. Sharing some of their own understanding which is supported by sound theoretical knowledge.

The day will take us on a journey, allowing for questions and reflection, whilst they help us to appreciate the reality of living with DID.

This event will greatly contribute to your therapeutic practice and qualifies for 6 hours of CPD.

CPD certificates will be provided where requested.
